What Cars Will Look Like In 2030
We already know what aircrafts will look like in 2030, but what about cars? Discovery Channel filmed a group of seven interns at GM Design whose task it was to come up with an answer to this question. The video shows you a preview and some examples of personal transportation for the year 2030.

@Flash Gordon: And what is the thought behind your comment, Flash?

@ Fresh Creation: did you ever saw a concept car on the road? I didn't. Maybe it would be nice to see such future-car-designs 25 years ago. I remember some city-concept drawings of the year 2000 :-)

@Flash: Did I ever see a concept car on the road... Well, the Audi TT looked a lot like the concept car that they presented before they took the TT into production.
What you're probably aiming at is that usually only elements of concept cars will find their way into production cars. A shame, I think. Since most car companies don't have the guts to make something that people can get really passionate about, and which is affordable at the same time, we are stuck with cars that look the same and sometimes practically ARE the same (sharing of parts, engines and complete designs is not unusual anymore).

Ya well what if I don't want my car to be on a grid with a trackable GPS and have a car that looks like someone gutted the engine and crushed everything to fit it? What are you going to do now? That's right, I'll drive my '86 Camaro till it turns into a pile of dust before I by something controlled by a computer.
