Since It’s Friday - Spider Car
Some of the movements of this spider car remind me of the kinetic sculptures by Theo Jansen. The reason the spider car was built: “We did it because we could.” Which is a perfectly good reason for making something totally crazy and amazing at the same time. Have a good weekend!

@fresh. i don't think this is really fresh creation. The designer seems to have taken the design for forward motion from possibly theojansen, whilst obviously not understanding it.
He neglected taking into acount that a vehicle needs to be able to turn, and he he neglected to statically balance out the legs. this makes the movement of the car rather clunky.
this guy tried to copy thoe jansens kinetic sculpture's and up the coolness by making the driving force an enginge rather then the wind, and completely missed the mechanical principles involved.

@thigis: The spider car is in the 'Since It's Friday' section which means that they are creations that shouldn't be taken too seriously. About the link with Theo Jansen's work... You and I see the connection but I seriously doubt if the guy in the clip knows about Theo Jansen and his work....
