Microsoft’s Vision On Future Healthcare
After the Origami project, Microsoft now gives us a preview of what healthcare could look like in the future. Instant sharing of and access to information seems to be their main prediction. With integrated displays everywhere.

It's cool and terrifying all at the same time. Some information is best kept in its current "hard" to share formats. The logistics in ensuring a secure environment with this level of interconnectivity boggle the mind.
Also considering the difficulty people have with current systems, I'm not sure how well they will adapt to virtually every flat space being some sort of combination computer/display; your bedside table suddenly starts displaying advertisements for a new bedside lamp.

About the security: That could be an issue indeed. About people adapting to new technology: I think you could be amazed how fast people accept new technologies if they understand the advantages and if the user interface is clear. Ads popping up on your bedside table is something that you can choose for probably. I don't think they will pop up without your approval.
