As innovative as the have historically been, one has to wonder how, as they doubled last year in employee headcount, it was a year of very few innovations out of the search giant. Whereas the Google Blog used to seem like one exciting launch announcement after another, for the last year it's been filled with posts of merely acquisitions and language additions. When formerly-fast companies forget how to innovate (or creeping Oracle-like corporate culture scares away the creativity), they start purchasing instead. This company, sadly, is little different.

@Kyle: Yes, I guess your right about Google's innovation... In my memory it's still the company that kept on introducing exciting new services. Anyone who knows what the most recent big Google innovation is and when that was introduced? PS Thanks for adding your view on this topic!
