Thatīs one of the most unnecessary things Iīve seen ....itīs not even making the bike more handy, smaller or easier to store .......ok maybe a little bit but its not worth it, because i think it wont be as cheap as a normal wheel...

@Lopa: The people that made it are looking into ways to make existing folding bikes even smaller. By making the wheels foldable there could be folding bikes in the future that can fit into a small box. There might be other uses for this invention that people haven't thought of yet... So to me it's definitely not 'one of the most unnecessary things I've seen'. Perhaps in a few years you can judge how useful this invention was... And inspiring for others. ;-)

yeah there is certainly a market for fullsized collapsible bicycles, at the very least in the netherlands, especially with rising fuel prices.
nice technical drawings too. i hope they already patented it before releasing it on the internet.
