Cell Phone Disco

image
To me the coolest installation at BrightLive was the Cell Phone Disco. It’s a wall with little LED lights on it that start flashing when they detect electromagnetic radiation of an active mobile phone within the range of about a meter. Result: loads of people were using their mobile phones in front of the wall just to make the LED lights flashing. Watch the video.

Cell Phone Disco at BrightLive in Amsterdam
(low-quality because of YouTube’s compression techniques)

Bonus: official Cell Phone Disco video

The Cell Phone Disco is created by Ursula Lavrencic and Auke Touwslager.
