Automatic Emotion Recognition
Here’s a demo of automatic emotion recognition. The webcam on top of the PC first registrates the ‘neutral face’ of the person in front of it. When that person starts looking angry it registrates the amount of anger. The amount of anger is not only influenced by expression but also by sound.
The technology could be used in combination with camera surveillance to actively inform guards about potentially dangerous situations. Automatic emotion recognition is one of the projects being developed for the Working Tomorrow program by LogicaCMG.
Working Tomorrow focuses on innovation. By making prototypes and demos the program tests what can be achieved with new technology and where it can be used. The projects within the program are done by students who use these projects as their graduation assignment.
Here’s a short demo of automatic emotion recognition. Again I apologize for the quality of the video. Within two weeks I will have a new videocamera.
