4:33 - Orchestra In Total Silence

I hadn’t heard of John Cage before but here is a video of his piece called 4:33. The crazy thing is that the piece is in total silence. A whole orchestra in front of an audience and then total silence.

The piece can have any duration and thus any title, but is stuck with the famous first performance duration and title (i.e. movement I: 30 seconds; movement II: 2 minutes 23 seconds; movement III: 1 minute 40 seconds). Cage himself refers to it as his “silent piece”.
