2025 - Discovery’s Vision Of Future Living
In over 50 minutes Discovery shows us what life will be like in 2025. I don’t know if the documentary is complete (the ‘end’ of part 5 doesn’t really look like an ending) so if anyone runs into part 6 then let me know. Watch the videos.

There are plenty of problematic technologies discussed here - or at least questions we should ask about potential problems. Do we want kidergarten kids to prefer telling stories to a virtual character over telling stories to each other? Just because we CAN use computers for something, that doesn't mean we SHOULD. What are some boundaries that we should set?

@Nathan: I guess the main goal of the Discovery documentary is to show what will be possible in 2025. I agree with you that what's possible is not always what's the best, but if you know what's possible you can start to think of other ways to use that same technology.

Yeah, I see what you mean. But still, I think their language in the documentary seems to treat almost all these gadgets as positive changes. For example, in part II, the man who tries to reject some of these technologies (his house computer is on voice-only mode, for example) is labeled a "technophobe" as a matter of fact. As if one who chooses not to adopt every possible technology could not be motivated by more nuanced thoughts.
Some of these technologies are terrific, but do we want to teach the kids to prefer interacting with computers over interacting with people? Our tools ought to enhance our interpersonal relationships, not replace them. I think wearables, more than all-knowing house computers, seem like a better way to go.
