The Catalogue by Chris Oakley explores the codification of humanity on behalf of corporate entities within the consumer environment. Through the manipulation of footage captured from life humanity is observed as a series of units whose value is defined by their spending capacity and future needs.

Balloon Indicates Air Pollution
A giant helium balloon indicates how polluted the air above Paris is by the use of a colourful lighting system. The colours, created by 3 projectors in the middle of the balloon, are red (highly polluted), orange (polluted), yellow (moderate), light green (clean) and green (very clean). The video is in French but the concept is worth having a look at, I think.

The Image Fulgurator

Since It’s Friday - Crazy Robotic Horse
This robotic horse is crazy. It looks like someone found loads of stuff at the car graveyard and put it together in the shape of a horse. The horse blows fire through his nose and seems to be better at scaring kids than at entertaining them. Have a good weekend!

Dancefloor Generates Electricity
Here’s a dancefloor that generates electricity by using the energy that comes from the people dancing on it. The electricity will be used for the LED lighting in the club. The dancefloor is part of the Sustainable Dance Club which produces sustainable products for clubs that show the crowd sustainability can be fun.
