Stand By Me - Song Around The World
Playing For Change is a movement to connect the world through music. From the award-winning documentary, Playing For Change: Peace Through Music, comes the first of many “songs around the world” being released independently. Featured is a cover of the Ben E. King classic by musicians around the world adding their part to the song as it travelled the globe. What a wonderful initiative! What an inspiring video! Must see!

Among them Juan Mann, the Free Hugs guy, and Esmee Denters, the Dutch singer that signed a contract with Justin Timberlake’s record label. Here’s a selection of the performances.

Sunday Sound Spotlight - Airto
Today I am proud to present a great singer who is also living in the south of Holland, just like me. He’s called Airto and he’s definitely influenced by Stevie Wonder. I selected a live performance of one of his own songs and a few covers for you. Sit back and enjoy!

Sunday Sound Spotlight - The Moldy Peaches
Last Friday I watched the movie Juno. The song ‘Anyone else but you’ by The Moldy Peaches can be heard in it. It’s a simple, little song that I quite enjoyed. So I thought it would be a good idea to share it with you. Enjoy!

Submersed Songs - Fish That Make Music
Submersed Songs is a sound installation that generates mp3 player remixes through the movements of four live fish. The animals’ movements and the proximity among them work as a parameter for mixing and spatializing the audience’s music tracks in real time.

Sunday Sound Spotlight - Clare And The Reasons
Clare and the Reasons are not the most cheerful band you can think of, probably. But they play ‘Everybody wants to rule the world’, originally by Tears For Fears, in a way that makes it sound totally different and authentic at the same time.
