Intriguing Movie Intro
I ran into this opening clip from the movie First Born. I’m not a big fan of ballet (accept if it’s ballet with cars) but the combination of the dancers in the video with the sounds of Mendelssohn’s Venetian Boat Song II is quite intriguing.

47 Minute Commercial
Great music, amazing images and beautiful girls that are riding the waves. That’s what the movie/documentary Shimmer is about. But if you take a closer look at who’s behind the movie then you realize that the whole thing is one big ad for the clothing brand Roxy. If I’m right, Roxy is part of Quiksilver, which released a dynamite surfing viral last year.

The Lone Filmmaker
Here’s a guy that’s making a film entirely by himself: “I am making a feature film - entirely on my own - and my girlfriend is filming me doing it. I am the actor, the editor, the set designer, the director, the colourist, the best-boy and the gaffer - in fact I am every role in the entire credits list.” So instead of a 1 Second Film we now have a 1 Man Film.

Once - Movie Trailer
I heard good things about the movie Once (2006). Anyone seen it already? It’s a modern-day musical about a busker and an immigrant and their eventful week in Dublin, as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story. Anyway, I added it to my ‘movies to see’ list.

Meet Wall-E
On June 27, 2008 the new Pixar movie Wall-E will be released. The movie is about a robot that lived alone for 700 years. But one day all of that changes. Pixar did a great job by making Wall-E a character that is very curious and not so smart. Besides the trailer I also added a short Wall-E animation.

Earthlings - Full Version
Earthlings is a feature length documentary about humanity’s absolute dependence on animals but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called “non-human providers.” The film is narrated by Joaquin Phoenix and features music by Moby. Warning: Contains very explicit images.

Tarantino’s Mind
Here’s a trippy short film about two guys having a Tarantino-inspired conversation during a diner. It runs just over 10 minutes. A must see. Certainly for those who are into Tarantino.
