Dataportability Saves You Time

Dataportability Saves You Time

Dataportability is about maintaining your online identity in one specific place. This means that you don’t have to fill out register forms anymore, that you upload your avatars, videos and photos only once and it also means that you decide who gets to access what. A dream come true. This nice typographic video tells the dataportability story.

Moonlight In Glory

Moonlight In Glory

Designed by Trollback + Company. A visual experiment where the graphics become the creator of the sounds rather than the reactive afterthought. The piece is set to ‘Moonlight in Glory’ by David Byrne and Brian Eno. I added a presentation about this clip as a bonus: ‘Rethinking The Music Video’.

Surfing The Web In Your BMW

Surfing The Web In Your BMW

You can program BMW’s navigation system with Google Maps. Now there’s another stunning BMW feature: internet access as a factory option. You do need the iDrive controller to access the web straight from your dashboard. For safety matters the system doesn’t allow web surfing if the car is driving more than 5 km/h (about 3 mph). Brian Cooley shows us how this works.

Multimedia Artist Takagi Masakatsu

Multimedia Artist Takagi Masakatsu

“An artist trying to make sense of the world, delicately moulding the everyday into the sublime. Lilting piano lines, digitally-enhanced melodies, and sturdily constructed ambient tunes. An artist who is influencing the world of film, video, design, advertising, music, and media art.” I added a video about Takagi Masakatsu and some examples of his work.

Is Anonymity A Right?

Is Anonymity A Right?

On Sunday March 9, a panel came together at the interactive festival SXSW to discuss ‘Sexual Privacy Online’. One of the interesting questions that popped up was: Do you have the right to be anonymous? I think that’s hard to achieve. In some online environments you want to be anonymous, in others it is necessary that you identify yourself. What do you think about all this?
