SWARM
”SWARM is a kinetic art work consisting of multiple semi-autonomous spherical robots ("Orbs") that roll under their own power. Each has a spherical shell 30 inches in diameter: roughly waist high to an adult.” Currently SWARMs are radio controlled but the plan is that they will start receiving commands from a ‘mother node’. Watch the video to see them do their rolling.

Sunlight Recites Poem
This is the One Day Poem Pavilion by Jiyeon Song. The pavilion is reminiscent of a geodesic dome. When daylight filters through the perforations on the surface, a poem becomes revealed on the ground as a projection. Within the pavilion, the poem can be seen between 8 AM and 4 PM. The poem consists of 5 lines with each line lasting about an hour. The slowness of message offers us a meditative moment within our hectic lives.

Magical Mirrors
These Magical Mirrors bring back the child in you. You can find them in Germany and as you pass by them they respond to your movements. They also respond to the traffic that passes by. This turns the shopping area into a playground at nighttime. Just like this and this. The clip is in German but don’t let that stop you from watching it.

Your Private Zeppelin
Here are two clips of private zeppelins. That means that only one person is ‘on board’ of the zeppelin. I must say that it looks quite stunning. Wouldn’t mind trying one myself someday. I am open to any invitations to fly one. Anyone?

Interactive Hologram Leads To New Ways Of Communication?
We’ve seen many futuristic technologies from movies become reality. So which movie was it that showed life size holograms? AirStrike shows us such a hologram. You can interact with it by just pointing a finger at it or moving your hands. Next step: Talking to a life size hologram instead of through a phone?

Ecology Design
Eco-futurist architect Mitchell Joachim of Terreform talks about growing buildings and living treehouse designs. I’m still wondering how long it will take to build such a house…

Did This Guy Invent Free Energy?
In 2006 there was a company claiming to be able to produce free and clean energy. It turned out to be a hoax. Now two Australian inventors say they have made a revolutionary generator that can produce 5 times as much power as it consumes. I hope this technology is not a hoax and the production of it won’t be stopped by the big companies.

Google Video Goes Outdoor
Here’s a video of an outdoor campaign for Google Video. The seethrough billboards are very cool, I think. Like expected, Google is entering the real world.

Since It’s Friday - Shoes Bike
Going for a walk this weekend? Or perhaps do some cycling? Why not do both at the same time? With this shoes bike you can. That is, if you are able to keep it going (unlike the boy in the clip). Have a good weekend!
